Balogun opts for dramatic new lookHas head shaved ahead of final fixturesForward remaining "calm" despite goal droughtWHAT HAPPENED?
The former Arsenal striker might not be having the best of seasons on the football pitch but his style game remains on point. Usually known for his short and dense spread, Balogun has now gone for a radical transformation and has been happy to show off his latest cut.

Balogun will need to remain "calm" on the pitch too due to a drop in form after a spectacular 2022-23 season where he scored 22 goals in 39 appearances. His returns have dwindled in this campaign as he has managed to find the net just eight times in 30 appearances across competitions.

Despite Balogun's dip in productivity, Monaco are second in the league standings and another victory would see them finish as runners-up to Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1. The top three sides qualify directly for the Champions League group stage for the next season and Monaco should be among them.
Everton have finally turned a corner under Sean Dyche to steer themselves away from the relegation zone and onwards towards mid-table comforts. On the pitch, the Toffees have enjoyed an excellent last month or so, advancing in the Carabao Cup against Burnley as well as losing just once in their last five Premier League games, which came at Anfield in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool, when their performance arguably deserved a point.
Whilst the threat of a points deduction still lurks, it may well be Everton's current form that keeps them up come the end of the campaign. If they avoid any further punishment alongside a potential deduction too, the Toffees could be in a position to land one specific Serie A target during the January transfer window.
Everton transfer news
Considering their financial difficulties, Everton did well in the summer to recruit a number of players for Dyche. The former Burnley manager was able to welcome the likes of Jack Harrison, Beto, Arnaut Danjuma and Ashley Young, who have all played their part so far this season. If 777 Partners complete their takeover of the club, we could yet see more arrivals at Goodison Park and that could include a deal from Serie A.
According to TeamTalk, Everton are set to make an offer to sign Samuel Iling-Junior, who has found himself out-of-favour at Juventus. The winger has made just four appearances all season and now looks set to move on amid reported interest from the Merseyside club, as well as Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham.
At just 20-years-old, the Englishman looks likely to have a big decision to make in January. At this stage, after failing to receive enough game-time at Juventus, minutes on the pitch should be the key to his decision and that's something Everton could offer over the likes of Spurs and Aston Villa.
"Menace" Iling-Junior could hand Everton a surprise boost
If Everton can convince Iling-Junior to choose them over fellow Premier League sides, then Dyche could be handed an unexpected boost. The winger may still be young, but the fact that the Chelsea academy star got the move to Juventus in the first place says all you need to know about the talent that he has at his disposal. Iling-Junior's stats when compared to Everton's current wingers show that he is more than capable of keeping up with those more experienced, too.

From those stats, it's clear that Iling-Junior would also only benefit from more game-time. During limited minutes on the pitch for Juventus this season, he has already produced impressive numbers. Now, if he received consistent starts for a side like Everton, then those numbers would only improve to create one of Dyche's best offensive options.
Iling-Junior has been at the centre of praise at times whilst in Italy, including from U23 scout and journalist Antonio Mango, who posted on X: "Was handed a surprise start at the weekend, away to a touch Atalanta team. He scored the opening goal and was a constant menace throughout the game. High energy and work volume as well as dreamy ball skills. Definitely one to watch"
Chelsea have recently been linked with a swoop for Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and a reliable journalist has now delivered the chances of him joining in January.
Kvaratskhelia profiled
Kvaratskhelia is naturally a left-winger who has plied his trade at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium since last summer having joined from Dinamo Batumi where he’s so far gone on to make a total of 61 senior appearances to date (Transfermarkt – Kvaratskhelia statistics).
The Georgia international still has just under four years remaining on his deal in the Serie A (Napoli contracts), but that hasn’t stopped chiefs from wanting to keep an eye on his displays considering the outstanding form he’s been in since the start of the season.
Chelsea can oust Mudryk by bringing "world-class" £87m target to the Bridge

Walter Mazzarri’s 22-year-old has established himself as his overall best-performing player so far this term with a match rating of 7.49 (WhoScored – Napoli statistics), with his impressive form seeing him being brought onto the radar at Stamford Bridge.
Back in November, ESPN reported that Todd Boehly and Mauricio Pochettino were one of the clubs chasing the attacker, alongside the likes of Premier League rivals Manchester City, Newcastle, Barcelona and Real Madrid, but if the following update is to be believed, it sounds like a move won’t be taking place anytime soon.
Chelsea not set to sign Kvaratskhelia
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano revealed that while Chelsea are admirers of Kvaratskhelia, there are not in any ongoing discussions to sign him. Quoted by Football Transfers, he said:
“From what I am hearing, Chelsea have not started any kind of contact for Kvaratskhelia. Not on the player’s side and not with Napoli, so the situation is completely quiet.
"Nothing is going to happen in January because Kvaratskhelia is not for sale in the January transfer window, and for Napoli, with the dangerous situation with Victor Osimhen, their idea is to keep Kvaratskhelia. At the moment, between Chelsea and Kvaratskhelia, there is absolutely nothing concrete in terms of negotiations or talks.”
Napoli forwardKhvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Kvaratskhelia's impact in the final third
During his time at Napoli, Kvaratskhelia has posted 40 contributions, 22 assists and 18 goals, in 61 appearances (Transfermarkt – Kvaratskhelia statistics), but even if the end product isn’t always there, he’s constantly posing a threat to the opposition's defence.
Sponsored by Nike, the two-footed talent currently ranks in the 97th percentile for progressive carries (FBRef – Kvaratskhelia statistics), highlighting his desire to push his team as high up the pitch as possible to create chances for himself and his fellow teammates in the final third.
Mazzarri’s £25k-per-week earner (Napoli salaries), is even a versatile operator having been deployed in five different positions over the grass since the start of his career, including everywhere across the frontline and as an attacking midfielder.
Furthermore, Kvaratskhelia has received plenty of individual recognition in the past having been named Napoli’s Player of the Year and Georgia’s Football of the Year on three separate occasions, so Chelsea could be making a mistake by not pursuing a deal for the forward in January.

Faz parte!
Arsenal are considering a move to sign a new striker in January, and the player is open to the move despite a recent development driving his price up, according to reports.
How have Arsenal performed this season?
In the Premier League, Mikel Arteta’s side have made a fantastic start to the new campaign having won six and drawn two of their opening eight games, meaning that they find themselves joint top of the table and level on points with rivals Tottenham.
With the North London teams the only two left in the division to remain unbeaten, here is how those fixtures have played out so far:
Nottingham Forest (2-1)
Fulham (2-2)
Crystal Palace (1-0)
Tottenham Hotspur (2-2)
Manchester United (3-1)
Everton (1-0)
Bournemouth (4-0)
Manchester City (1-0)
The Gunners currently have 16 squad members away on international duty representing their nations, including the likes of Martin Odegaard with Norway, Gabriel Jesus with Brazil and Oleksandr Zinchenko with Ukraine (Arsenal website), and this break in domestic action has given chiefs time to start assessing their transfer options ahead of the new year.
Aston Villa centre-forward Ollie Watkins has emerged as a possible target, but having only signed a new long-term deal earlier this month that runs until 2028 (Aston Villa contracts), Unai Emery’s side are in a very strong negotiating position when it comes to any kind of sale regarding their prized asset.
However, England’s international has established himself as the overall best-performing player in the Midlands so far this season with a match rating of 7.37 (WhoScored – Aston Villa statistics), and the 27-year-old’s outstanding displays have caught the eye in N7.
Ollie Watkins transfer update
According to Spanish reports (via The Hard Tackle) who have shared a transfer update on Ollie Watkins, Arsenal are “hoping to sign” the attacker from Aston Villa in January despite his recent new deal no doubt driving the asking price up.
Edu is looking to bolster his ranks in the final third and has earmarked the star as a potential candidate, and it’s believed the Gunners are “attractive” to Watkins so he “could be tempted” by the project on offer.
Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins.
How many goals has Ollie Watkins scored?
Since putting pen to paper at Aston Villa, Watkins has posted 67 contributions, 50 goals and 17 assists, in 129 appearances, which shows how prolific he can be in the final third, a quality that he’s carried into this season (Transfermarkt – Watkins statistics).
Sponsored by Under Armour, Emery’s striker has recorded a total of 25 shots so far this term which is more than any of his fellow teammates (FBRef – Aston Villa statistics), which has seen him described as “difficult to stop” due to his amazing movement and work rate by journalist Josh Bunting.
Furthermore, Watkins, whose wage has just gone from £75k-per-week to over £100k-per-week (Aston Villa salaries), is a versatile operator having been deployed in six different positions over the pitch since the start of his career, including everywhere across the frontline and even two roles in the midfield, so should he ever sign on the dotted line, it would be a massive coup for Arsenal to have such a versatile and clinical threat up front.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has been working on a behind-the-scenes training plan to improve "one of the best passers at Spurs".
Latest Spurs news
The north Londoners are still flying high as they maintain their very impressive early-season unbeaten streak, having now won five out of their opening seven Premier League matches. Tottenham's fortunes, since the arrival of Postecoglou from Celtic in the summer, have drastically turned around in contrast to Antonio Conte's last season in charge.
Spurs supporters have been treated with a thrilling ride as they witness both the return of attacking football and a never-say-die mentality from their team. The Lilywhites have scored 17 league goals so far, the same number as last season's treble-winners Man City, and fought hard to secure last-gasp wins against the likes of Sheffield United and Liverpool.
Most recently, Postecoglou's side battled to beat Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool in dramatic and controversial circumstances on home turf, but the Tottenham manager believes their late, late win will only add to their spirit and belief.
"It wasn’t an easy game for us, we knew it wouldn’t be, and even in the circumstances, we had some unique challenges," explained the Australian.
"For some of these guys, this will be the first time they’ve faced that type of scenario, and for the most part, we handled it okay. Again, getting that late winner helps build the belief and spirit in the group. The thing about Liverpool, even with 10 men, they are equally as dangerous because the game plan is the same, they play on mistakes, they have world-class players up front who can hurt you. I thought the second half was better because we stayed a bit calmer, maintained our pressure in the wide areas and got our reward.”
Tottenham player ratings
There have been fair few standout performers, with the likes of Son Heun-min, James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie and Yves Bissouma impressing – to name a few. One of the more lesser-mentioned dazzlers in a Spurs shirt has been January signing Pedro Porro, who's started six out of Tottenham's opening seven matches.
The Spaniard ranks as one of their best-performing players per 90, according to WhoScored, and has been called "one of the best passers at Spurs" by football.london journalist Alasdair Gold. Interestingly, the reporter has shared details on a Postecoglou plan to make Porro even better by improving the defensive aspects of his game. This is by letting Spurs coach Matty Wells work "in particular" with Porro on his defending.
“He’s worked on his defensive aspects of his game so much over the last two months or so," said Gold on his YouTube channel this week.
"And when you add that to his speed, skill, his delivery, he’s got a brilliant passing range. I’d actually say he’s one of the best passers at Spurs. And I think what’s really impressive is [Ange] Postecoglou revealed afterwards is Matty Wells the coach who obviously came into help Ryan Mason and has stuck around with Postecoglou because he’s got a very similar kind of mindset to Postecoglou.
“Matty Wells has been working with his defence and [Pedro] Porro in particular.”
Sheffield Wednesday's search for a new manager following the dismissal of Xisco Munoz is still ongoing, with several names linked with the position. The Owls are understandably taking time to consider their options, perhaps well aware of the need to get their next appointment right, given that they sit bottom of the Championship on just three points.
If they get things wrong once again, then those at Hillsborough will likely remain on course for a return to League One, just one season after they earned promotion at Wembley. Hoping to avoid taking two steps back after such impressive progress last season, Sheffield Wednesday and owner Dejphon Chansiri have reportedly opened talks with one of two lead candidates for the job.
Latest Sheffield Wednesday manager news
So far, we've seen a range of names mentioned in the running for the Sheffield Wednesday job, with Neil Warnock, Steve Evans, Nathan Jones, Steve Evans, Oscar Garcia, and Sabri Lamouchi all linked with the job at Hillsborough. Chansiri is yet to make an official appointment, however, leaving the race well and truly open for anyone to win.
With that said, Joe Crann of The Star has provided a Sheffield Wednesday manager update, reporting that the Owls have opened talks with former Bayern Munich and Germany coach Danny Rohl, who is one of two leading candidates. Rohl would certainly be an interesting option, compared to the more experienced names mentioned for the role, that's for sure, but only time will tell whether he lands the job or if Chansiri looks elsewhere once more.
Crann stated that the former Bayern coach came close to taking up the role last summer when he was still the assistant manager of Germany, before Munoz took the job. Clearly on Sheffield Wednesday's radar for a while, Rohl could now finally get his chance.
Who is Danny Rohl?
If Rohl was to take up the role at Sheffield Wednesday, it would be his first managerial role, having been an assistant all throughout his career. That said, he has been at some impressive clubs. He has been the assistant manager at Southampton, under Ralph Hasenhuttl, and at Bayern Munich, Germany, and RB Leipzig, learning from the likes of Hansi Flick and Niko Kovak. So, despite his inexperience in the main job, it is clear that, from a tactical standpoint, Rohl would arrive with some modern ideas.
Whoever comes in next must get the Owls firing once more. So far this season, they have scored just five goals in the Championship, failing to win a single game, and sitting seven points adrift of safety just 10 games into the campaign. If it is to be Rohl's first-ever managerial role, then he has picked a hefty task.
From Sheffield Wednesday's point of view, it could easily be viewed as a risky move to appoint Rohl when in such a dangerous position. They may go onto regret not going for other, more experienced candidates, if they name the former Bayern Munich assistant in the coming days, but it looks like one to watch.
Life does not appear to be getting any easier for Manchester United, with Erik ten Hag's side facing a stern test away to Bayern Munich this evening in what is a mouthwatering start to this season's Champions League group stage.
The Old Trafford outfit will go into tonight's encounter in Bavaria having slipped to three defeats from their opening five Premier League games, with it is safe to say that the club are now in something of a "full-blown crisis", according to Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst.
What is the Man United team news for Bayern?
With the season reaching a new low following the 3-1 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion at the weekend, Ten Hag was likely in need of some positivity heading into the trip to Germany, albeit with it having since been a story of further setbacks in recent days.
The struggling outfit are set to be without a raft of first-team assets against Thomas Tuchel's men, with the likes of Mason Mount, Raphael Varane and Sofyan Amrabat all not included in the travelling party due to injury.
Harry Maguire
The Red Devils have also been hampered by the loss of both Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire following the clash with the Seagulls, leaving Ten Hag's options in the backline particularly stretched with Jonny Evans the only option in reserve.
There will, however, likely be another start for summer signing Rasmus Hojlund after the towering Dane was withdrawn on the hour mark on Saturday, with United needing to get their £72m addition firing if they are to have any hope of enjoying a successful season.
Will Hojlund start vs Bayern?
If not for a matter of millimetres, the 20-year-old may already have a first United goal under his belt, albeit with teammate Marcus Rashford having agonisingly run the ball out of play in the build-up to Hojlund's disallowed strike last time out.
That pull-back from the Englishman was, in truth, one of few occasions when he looked to find his new strike partner against Roberto De Zerbi's men, with the 25-year-old showcasing something of a selfish streak in the second half, in particular, after lashing an effort into the side-netting rather than picking out the former Atalanta man.
Rasmus Hojlund
If the 6 foot 3 speedster is to truly become rather unplayable in attack then he will be reliant on quality service from those around him, particularly from the flanks, although with Rashford – who scored 30 goals last season – looking to fire himself, Ten Hag may need to consider pepping up the attack with another exciting asset, such as young Facundo Pellistri.
Will Pellistri play against Bayern?
With both Antony and Jadon Sancho currently sidelined, it had looked almost a certainty that the Uruguayan would start at the weekend, albeit with Ten Hag instead favouring a midfield diamond that included Scott McTominay on the right-hand side.
That decision not to unleash the 21-year-old whiz was deemed "inexplicable" by Luckhurst, with the former Penarol menace arguably the only orthodox right-wing option among the available crop of forwards.
That may suggest Ten Hag has little faith in the diminutive talent – who has made just 13 senior appearances for the club – although the "spectacular" gem, as described by compatriot Ronald Araujo, may be required to provide a much-needed spark this evening.
Such a bold inclusion could be particularly crucial for a figure like Hojlund, with Pellistri – who was praised for his "direct" nature by pundit Ally McCoist during the World Cup in Qatar – regularly looking to pick out his teammates from the right flank.
That was apparent on a rare outing last season at home to Real Betis in the Europa League, with the wideman producing a "scintillating" surge into the box, as per journalist Alex Turk, before pulling the ball across to eventually find Wout Weghorst, following McTominay's initial deflected effort.
While just a mere flavour of his ability, that solo run and impressive end product showcased that Pellistri could well be a striker's dream if given a consistent run in the side, with the natural right-footer likely to favour a cross or a threaded pass, over cutting onto his weaker side for a shot – as would be the case with Antony, as well as Rashford on the other side.
There may be those who would see it as too much of a gamble to thrust the 14-cap international into the fray against the Bundesliga giants, yet it could prove the key to not only unlocking United as a whole but also the hungry Hojlund.

Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan has alleged that he claimed to have collected money sent to him by a UK national through a Pakistani woman in Dubai
ESPNcricinfo staff14-Mar-2018The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) supervising the BCCI has asked the board’s anti-corruption unit to investigate if Mohammed Shami collected money sent to him by a UK national through a Pakistani woman in Dubai. Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan had alleged that Shami made that claim when she confronted him and accused him of committing adultery. Jahan released an alleged recording of that telephonic conversation, and the CoA has taken note of it.Kolkata Police is currently looking into various criminal charges filed by Jahan against India fast bowler Shami and his family, including attempt to murder. Shami has rejected all the accusations and has pleaded with his wife to sort the issues out in private. A day after Jahan first made the allegations, the BCCI withheld Shami’s annual contract, choosing to wait for the police probe.Kolkata Police has been in touch with the BCCI, asking the board about Shami’s travel schedule after India’s recent tour of South Africa, and whether he extended his stay in Dubai, as alleged by his wife, while the rest of the team returned home. The CoA or the BCCI has not made any comment on the issue. However, the recording released by Jahan has led to the CoA calling for an internal probe. In the alleged audio tape, the person claimed to be Jahan is heard asking the person claimed to be Shami why he met someone referred to as Alisba in Dubai. Shami allegedly tells Jahan that he had to collect money from Alisba, money sent by a certain Mohammed Bhai from the UK.In a letter addressed to the head of the BCCI ACSU Neeraj Kumar, which ESPNcricinfo has accessed, the CoA has asked the board to submit a report “preferably” within a week. “The Committee of Administrators is concerned only with such portion of the said audio recording in which the person who it is claimed is Md. Shami is heard saying another person by the name of ‘Mohammad Bhai’ had sent money to Md. Shami through a Pakistani lady by the name of ‘Alisba’,” the letter said. The CoA has asked the board to investigate whether Mohammed Bhai and Alisba exist, if any money was sent to Shami, and, if it was indeed sent, why. “Please investigate the above assertions/allegations under the BCCI Anti-Corruption Code and submit a report to the Committee of Administrators with your findings as to whether there is any basis to proceed further in terms thereof. The investigation should cover (i) the identity and antecedents of “Mohammad Bhai” and “Alisba”; (ii) whether any money was in fact sent by the said Mohammad Bhai through the said Alisba to Md. Shami; and (iii) if yes, the purpose for which the said money was received by Md. Shami.”The CoA has asked the ACSU to restrict the investigation to what might fall under the BCCI’s anti-corruption code.
