At first sight, Barcelona don’t really seem like a club with an old squad.

After all, their current average age stands at 26.5 as per Transfermarkt and that, although not the youngest, is still far from alarming, isn’t it?

But upon further inspection, we can see that the main hub of that team is really getting on. All of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Gerard Pique, Ivan Rakitic and Sergio Busquets are already on the wrong side of their 30s and not getting any younger.

And while the inevitable departure of Messi seems like a catastrophe waiting to happen, the Blaugrana might also run into trouble once Busquets calls it a day.

Of course, the signing of Frenkie de Jong could help but Ernesto Valverde has so far played the young Dutchman in that defensive midfielder role only six times out of 18 games in total that Transfermarkt have in their database, which could indicate that the Barcelona boss prefers to have him further up the pitch instead.

For that reason, their recent links to Rennes 17-year-old prodigy, Eduardo Camavinga, don’t really come as a surprise and seem like a rather good idea.

L’Equipe (via Mundo Deportivo) stated the French club will ask for around €60m (£51m) for their gem and Barcelona could face some competition from Manchester United as well.

But looking at the young talent, he really does seem worth the hassle.

After all, he has already played a total of 23 games for Rennes in Ligue 1 despite being just 17 years of age and even has one assist to his name.

He’s a natural defensive midfielder by trade and that is very much visible in his statistics this season.

Camavinga has averaged an incredible 4.3 tackles and 1.5 interceptions per game in the French top-flight and has managed to maintain 87.5% passing accuracy, suggesting he’s quite good on the ball as well.

By all means, he really does seem like Busquets’ young replica and a perfect heir for Barcelona.

Of course, the Red Devils should also not be completely disregarded in this conversation.

The only true defensive midfielder they have in their squad is Nemanja Matic and the Serbian is slowly but surely getting on, similarly to Busquets.

Not to mention that he has also been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, seeing how his current contract is due to run out next summer and there are no clear indications that he might sign an extension.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has every right to chase Camavinga and for that reason, Blaugrana might not get the youngster without a fight.

الرجل صاحب الـ29 عامًا أكد في التحقيق معه، أنه كان يحاول الدخول إلى قصر نيمار لنقل رسائل دينية إلى اللاعب البرازيلي دون علمه، من أجل حمايته.

Rayan Cherki truly is one of the greatest prospects in modern football.

Even though he is still just 16 years of age, he can already boast appearances for Olympique Lyon’s senior team in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League in 2019/20.

The young Frenchman has tallied four goals and one assist in three UEFA Youth League games and not only that, but last year, Cherki became the youngest player ever to score in the competition at the tender age of just 15 years and 33 days with his goal against Manchester City.

While playing for Lyon’s U17 side, he also netted an incredible five-minute hat-trick to further solidify his undeniable talent.

And now, this wonderkid that was once described as an “alien” by former Lyon coach Bruno Genesio, and also likened to Karim Benzema in terms of style of play, is reportedly on Liverpool’s radar, as per a report from 90min.

The interest from Jurgen Klopp and the Reds is nothing surprising. After all, the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus are all waiting in line to poach the young prodigy’s signature.

Still, Lyon know that and they also know it’s only a matter of time before he leaves their club and goes on to build his future at one of the European giants, as 90min have also confirmed.

But looking at it from their perspective, it’s still far too early to part with such a huge talent who is still only 16.

Further down the line, if he truly goes on to turn into a superstar, which is looking more than likely, the time will come when he might outgrow the club of his youth.

Now, however, in this crucial stage of his development, staying at Lyon could potentially benefit both him and the team.

Liverpool, however, have a knack of scooping young talents – as we’ve seen with the arrival of Harvey Elliot and Sepp van den Berg – and Klopp could also help mould Cherki into the player he’s seemingly destined to become.

But the time is not right for Lyon to sell.

While Cherki would be held in the pipeline practically everywhere else, at Lyon he can already start building his legacy and his profile.

Not to mention that with the team currently sitting in seventh, they might need all the boost they can get to make the final push come the end of the season.

And then, in the near future, they can offload the young prodigy and profit from it even more.

Let’s see if they can pull it off.

كشفت صحيفة “موندو ديبورتيفو” الكتالونية، أنّ نادي برشلونة الإسباني، سيقوم بعمل جولة صيفية هذا العام، استعدادًا للموسم القادم 2021/2022.

It’s fair to say that Everton fans responding weren’t impressed, with one even suggesting it would be it for Moshiri in terms of support from the Goodison Park faithful should the Portuguese get the job.

It wasn’t an uncommon opinion either with other words such as “horrendous”, “disaster” and “shocking” used to describe the list of names.

Others decided that following the weekend and looking at this list, that they would rather have Duncan Ferguson at the helm rather than any of the names given.

With competition for places intense, The Manchester Evening News claim that “a loan is inevitable next season as United re-plot his pathway to the first-team”, and that “the late developments of midfielders Tom Cleverley and Jesse Lingard offer encouragement”.

After hearing about the update on Garner’s future, United fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the situation.

One United fan however seemed to think that Garner’s career is finished based on the latest development.

Garner has received some glowing endorsements about his ability from managers and coaches alike, and he’s certainly a talent worth keeping an eye on.

A loan away to potentially another Premier League team, or even a side in the lower divisions of English football would give him valuable first-team opportunities to shine.

أكد الدولي البلجيكي، إيدين هازارد، جناح ريال مدريد، أنه يشعر بالسعادة داخل النادي الملكي، رغم معاناتاه مع المرينجي مُنذ الانتقال إليه.

هازارد كان انضم إلى ريال مدريد، قبل ثلاثة أعوام، قادمًا من تشيلسي، وعلى مدار هذه الفترة بالكاد خاض بعض المباريات مع الفريق، مما تسبب في انخفاض قيمته السوقية من 150 مليون يورو لـ40 مليون يورو.

وقال هازارد في تصريحات نقلتها شبكة “GOAL” العالمية في نسختها الإنجليزية: “ليس صحيحًا أنني غير سعيد في ريال مدريد، أنا سعيد جدًا في النادي، طالما تلعب وتسجل ستكون سعيدًا”.

وأضاف: “أنا بالفعل لم ألعب وأسجل الكثير من الأهداف، لكن هذا لا يؤثر على عاطفتي تجاه ريال مدريد”.

وواصل: “أنا سعيد في ريال مدريد، أحب حياتي هُناك بالفعل، الوضع معقد بسبب كوفيد والإصابات وكل شيء، لكن اللاعب يكون سعيدًا عندما يلعب لدقائق، وبالطبع من الأسهل أن تكون سعيدًا عندما تسجل”.

وتابع: “يُمكنكم قول ما تريدون، ولكنني أؤكد لكم أنني سعيد للغاية هُناك، أعلم أنه يمكنني القيام بأشياء جيدة هناك وهذا كل شيء”.

وأتم تصريحاته قائلًا: “عندما أسجل الأهداف سأبتسم مرة أخرى، سيقول الجميع إنني سعيد، لكنني سعيد بالفعل الأمر فقط هو أنني لا أستطيع اللعب ولا أستطيع التسجيل، وهذا ما أفتقده”.

هازارد في ثلاث سنوات مع ريال مدريد، لم يُشارك إلا في 46 مباراة بمُختلف المُسابقات، وسجل خمسة أهداف وقدم تسع تمريرات حاسمة.

Tottenham Hotspur have offered Jan Vertonghen a new contract extension, according to Het Nieuwsblad via @Daily_Hotspur.

The Belgian outlet claims Spurs have offered Vertonghen a one-month-extension until the end of July. His current contract is set to expire in June, but the new terms would allow him to finish the season.

BBC Sport reported last month that clubs have agreed to finish the campaign by July 25. However, there is room for manoeuvre, in light of the unprecedented circumstances.

The Belgium international was a favourite of former boss Mauricio Pochettino, although he has fallen out of favour with his successor Jose Mourinho, and it seems he is ready to leave north London in the summer.

Despite initial reports suggesting Mourinho has ended talks with Vertonghen’s representatives, it appears the Lilywhites are prepared to extend the Belgian’s deal.

However, the wantaway veteran is weighing up his options, and he has recieved a lucrative offer from Real Betis, amid interest from ex-Chelsea and now Inter manager Antonio Conte, who is keen to bring the defender to the San Siro.

Although the 33-year-old has been a loyal servant of the club over the years, it is fair to say he has struggled for form this season, as he was hauled off early on in the second half during the 3-2 win over Southampton in the FA Cup after making several major mistakes.

It is clear he is below the likes of Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga in the pecking order, and he is widely expected to depart Tottenham in the summer.

Moreover, Vertonghen will certainly want to protect his own interests, and he may want to avoid picking up an injury that could ward off potential suitors.
